HARVEST MOON FESTIVAL TO START REAPING BOUNTY.

PALMDALE - The Palmdale Playhouse will celebrate the spirit of Americana with a three-day festival of dance, story, song and even science during the ninth annual Harvest Moon harvest moon, full moon occurring nearest to the autumnal equinox, about Sept. 23. ``All of the performances in the Harvest Moon Festival present a spectacular view of Americana through story, music, song and dance,'' explained Cultural Arts/Theatre Manager Dea McAllister. ``The Playhouse is proud to offer the opportunity for the community to celebrate the spirit and diversity of America through live theater.''

The festival will kick off at 7:30 p.m. today with Printz Dance Project, which blends athletic, modern, hip-hop and jazz dance with a wide range of music.

Tickets are $14 for adults, and $12 for senior citizens, military, students and children 12 and under.

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m. five-time Grammy nominee Nnenna Freelon Nnenna Freelon, (b. July 28, 1954), is an American jazz singer, composer, producer, and arranger. She has been nominated for five Grammy Awards for her vocal work,[1]  will perform in ``Blueprint of a Lady,'' using song and spoken word to tell about jazz great Billie Holiday Billie Holiday (April 7, 1915 – July 17, 1959), born Eleanora Fagan and later nicknamed Lady Day (see "Jazz royalty" regarding similar nicknames), was an American jazz singer, a seminal influence on jazz and pop singers, and generally regarded as one of the . 2005 is the 90th anniversary of Holiday's birth.

Tickets for Freelon's concert are $20 for adults, and $15 for senior citizens, military, students and children 12 and under.

 performance of Super Scientific Circus, whose demonstrations involve boomerangs, bubbles, beach balls, bullwhips, magic and mime.

Tickets for Super Scientific Circus are $12 for adults, and $10 for senior citizens, military, students and children 12 and under. ``Student rush'' specials are available for any show: Students with identification can purchase tickets at half price 30 minutes before the show.
