He said he planned to share his voting experience with his family and discuss some of the issues that affect him. Many students said they enjoyed being able to vote on some of the propositions they felt tied to -- particularly 85 and 1D. ``It was nice. It gave me a voice,'' Sarmiento said. Ashley Karminski, 17, said she felt the experience would help her teach her mom a few things. Kaminski's history teacher handed the class pamphlets and booklets on the ballot issues. ``I don't think I have ever seen my mom look at a voting booklet,'' Kaminski said.
