They might as well have said, ``We'll meet again.'' The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. powerhouses likely will face off in many summer-league passing-tournament finals, then in the regular season to decide the Foothill League title and - just maybe - in the Southern Section Div. II final at Edison Field in December. The potential for many more exciting moments was in the air Saturday as Canyon outlasted Hart of Newhall in a battle of quarterback precision to win the Hart tournament at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. . Canyon quarterback Nate Longshore Nate Longshore (born June 30, 1986 in Canyon Country, California, U.S.) is an American football quarterback for the California Golden Bears. Longshore was an Elite-11 quarterback in high school and a 4-star recruit rated by Rivals.com and Scout.com."How Far ... was the star of the tournament, outgunning top quarterbacks Rudy Carpenter of Westlake in the semifinals and Sean Norton of Hart for the championship. He led Canyon on scoring drives on all seven full possessions in the 42-36 victory over Hart. ``We know this really means nothing at all,'' Longshore long·shore adj. But, still, we went out there and beat the best team around.'' The duel may have originated in the wager of battle, an early mode of trial in which an accused person fought with his accuser under going with Carpenter in the semifinals. Carpenter made his competitive debut for Westlake after transferring from Newbury Park. He took every snap in all but one of nine games. ``It felt great being out there,'' said Carpenter, who went through a long eligibility battle. ``It's a relief to be playing.
