Alex Pettee's 13-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Arndt with 21.5 seconds left capped an 80-yard drive, giving visiting Hart a dramatic 22-15 win over rival Valencia on Friday night at Valencia High School Valencia High School may refer to:

The winning score came after Shane Vereen had given Valencia a 15-14 lead on a touchdown and a two-point conversion In American football and Canadian football, a team may try to score a two-point conversion (score two points) instead of an extra point (one point) immediately after it scores a touchdown.  with 2:44 remaining, capping an 80-yard drive for the Vikings and seemingly giving them the chance to pull the upset.

But it turned out that Pettee and Hart still had plenty of time.

``It's our two-minute drill. We do it in practice every Wednesday,'' said Pettee.

This was no ordinary two-minute drill, however, Twice the Indians faced a fourth-down situation on their way to the end zone.

The drive almost stalled at the Hart 20 before Pettee threw a 12-yard pass to Michael Davis Michael Davis or Mike Davis may refer to:

And moments later, Hart faced a 4th and 20 from its own 35 when Pettee lofted a long pass down the left sideline sideline

A 16-yard run by Delano Howell got the Indians a little closer, and two plays later Pettee found Arndt in the middle of the end zone just across the goal line for the game-winner.

The win puts Hart (4-4, 2-0) in prime contention for a playoff spot with winless Golden Valley on the schedule last week.

And the loss hurts even more for Valencia (2-7, 1-2) because the Vikings now fall to 1-2 in league play for the season with only defending league and section champion Canyon left on the schedule.

Valencia last missed the playoffs in 1995, its first year in the Foothill League.

Hart leads the overall series, 12-1, and has won close games in three of the last four meetings.
