HART ENDS YEAR ON HIGH NOTE.

The William S. Hart Mustang baseball team lost its first two round-robin games Wednesday and Thursday to fall out of championship contention at the Pony World Series (10-under) in Irving, Texas Irving (pronounced 'er-ving') is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas within Dallas County. --Moore support: Another former Hart football player, Matt Moore, has taken his knocks in various forums since quitting UCLA's football team, then wavering about switching to baseball.

But Moore has a staunch supporter in former Hart teammate Chris Frome, now a junior defensive lineman at Notre Dame.

``That kid always keeps you guessing. But believe me, Matt Moore knows what he's doing,'' Frome said. ``He's got immense talent. He's just so naturally gifted. It was great playing with him, and I'm sure he'll end up on his feet.''

--Softball tryout: The search is on for local players ages 16-19 to represent the United States in an international competition in Australia and Hawaii during the winter and summer break during the school year.
