Electronic Systems Sector announced plans to realign its business area associated with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Sets (TPS) for avionics systems with its Government Aerospace Systems Division (GASD), a leading supplier of avionics systems, effective Nov. 21.
Dr. Allen S. Henry, president of the Electronic Systems Sector, said, "This move is a natural fit with current programs and future technology initiatives and places us in an even stronger position to continue to provide high technology programs that meet the needs of both our avionics systems and avionics support systems customers."
Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has, for many years, supplied ATE and TPS through its Government Support Systems Division in Orlando, Fla. Charles J. Herbert, vice president and general manager of Government Aerospace Systems Division said, "In today's environment competitive companies leverage their strengths. The new alignment will guarantee our customers a substantial resource base and combine modern technology for ATE and TPS with broad, deep expertise in systems engineering, software and hardware, reliability and maintainability, quality assurance, manufacturing, program controls, and life cycle support. Programs and personnel associated with the ATE and TPS business activity will remain in Orlando. A management team will direct all aspects of the transition to minimize its impact on customers, programs and employees.
