 ANNOUNCES PUBLIC OFFERING OF SENIOR SUBORDINATED NOTES DUE 2002
 WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Harman International Industries, Incorporated (NYSE: HAR) today announced the public offering of $70 million aggregate principal amount of 12 percent Senior Subordinated Notes due 2002. The notes were priced at 99.277 percent to yield 12.125 percent. The company will use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes (approximately $67.2 million) to repay approximately $23.2 million of long-term debt and approximately $44.0 million of short-term debt. The notes are being offered by Lehman Brothers and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation as underwriters.
