PhatNoise is now rockin' out in Harman's house.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Harman has corporate offices and manufacturing facilities across the globe, including Northridge and Washington, D.C. The consumer unit is based in Woodbury, N.Y.

``PhatNoise is a remarkably talented organization focused on developing innovative solutions for acquiring, organizing, and enjoying digital media in the car,'' Gina Harman, the consumer group's president, said in a statement.

Formed six years ago, PhatNoise specializes in digital media systems for cars and trucks. Its customers include Kenwood, General Motors, Volvo, Mazda, Volkswagen and Audi brands.

PhatNoise's hardware and software products offer users methods of locating, managing, playing and interacting with digital content across multiple devices and environments, such as alternating between home and car.
