HARISTON CORP. METAL EXTRACTION PROCESSING PLANT

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Hariston Corp. (NASDAQ: HRSNF) ("Hariston"), through Metanetix Corp. ("Metanetix"), a 75-percent controlled subsidiary of Hariston, wishes to announce that their full-scale metal extraction processing plant announced March 24, 1993, will be coming on stream by the end of June 1993 in Butte, Mont. The plant is on schedule, both in terms of timing and projected capital cost. The plant will operate a water solution mining concept using an adaption of the revolutionary and proprietary selective metals extraction technology employed by Metanetix in their environmental remediation projects. The Metanetix environmental technology focuses on the selective removal of hazardous metals from harbor sediments, soils, industrial waste metal sludges, and sewage sludges, and converts the metals to non- hazardous, metallic forms for recycling.
The metals extraction processing plant will initially operate on the basis of 300 gallons per minute ("GPM") and can be increased under its existing structure to 1,000 GPM, and pending regulatory approval, the processing plant can be increased to 6,000 GPM. The plant will draw from a mine site that contains 3.9 billion gallons of mine water with an estimated natural inflow of 6,000 gallons per minute. All pilot test data confirms the prior stated proforma cash flows which reflect an annualized gross revenue in excess of $75 million.
The process focuses on chelated metals as well as metal oxides. The metals will be sold in bulk to companies seeking alternative high-quality products for pharmaceutical, agricultural, and the micronutrient markets.
Metanetix is in the process of finalizing a number of production contracts with major North American users for the current and projected production.
