 HANSON PLC, ONE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM'S LARGEST COMPANIES,
 BEGINS TRADING WARRANTS ON THE AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE
 NEW YORK, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today began trading the Class B and Class C warrants of London-based Hanson PLC. Trading on a "when-issued" basis under ticker symbol HAN.WS.B.WI, 400,000 Class B warrants opened at 5/16 and trading regular way under ticker symbol HAN.WS.C, the Class C warrants were indicated at 5/16 (bid) to 3/8 (ask).
 The company's ordinary shares trade on the London Stock Exchange.
 Hanson is a United Kingdom-based company that is engaged in a wide range of industrial and consumer activities principally between the United Kingdom and the United States. Its U.K. business encompasses the manufacture of bricks, dry cell batteries, electrical and gas equipment, tobacco products, construction equipment and the supply of aggregates. Its U.S. business includes the mining and sale of coal and gold and the sale of timber, the manufacture of lumber, cranes, garden and industrial hand tools, specialty textiles and a number of other diverse products.
 Through its acquisition of Beazer PLC, an international housebuilding, construction and building materials group, Hanson became one of the largest homebuilders in the U.K., and the second largest producer of aggregates in the U.S.
 The American Stock Exchange is the second largest securities exchange in the United States and the largest American exchange with significant markets in both equities and derivative products. Today, it is an international institution on the cutting edge of trading floor technology, new product development and expansion into world markets through system linkages and globally traded products.
