 HANSELMAN ELECTED A DIRECTOR OF IMCO RECYCLING
 IRVING, Texas, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- IMCO Recycling Inc.,


(NYSE: IMR) today announced that Richard W. Hanselman, 64, was elected at the annual meeting to the company's board of directors. He succeeds E. Gordon Perry, 79, a director since 1985 who did not stand for reelection.
 Hanselman, now a corporate director and consultant, served as chairman, chief executive officer and a director of Genesco Inc. from 1981 to 1986. Genseco Inc. is a diversified footwear and apparel business with annual sales of about $500 million. Earlier in his career, Hanselman spent 10 years with Beatrice Companies where he was promoted to executive vice president after holding a series of progressively responsible management positions.
 He is currently a member of the boards of directors of Becton, Dickinson & Co.; Arvin Industries Inc.; Healthtrust Inc.; Maxum Health Corp.; Foundation Health Corporation; and Bradford Funds.
 Hanselman, who resides in Nashville, Tenn., is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
 IMCO Recycling Inc., as the world's largest independent recycler of aluminum, zinc dross and magnesium, is an important part of the growing resource recovery industry. It is the only publicly owned firm whose activities are concentrated in the aluminum recycling market. The company's production facilities are located in Morgantown, Ky.; Rockwood, Tenn.; Sapulpa, Okla.; and Adrian, Mich.
