The bank opened its doors at 3737 W. Olympic Blvd. in 1982 with $6 million in assets and a small staff. Since then, it has grown to become the largest Korean-American community bank in Los Angeles, with nine branches in Los Angeles and Orange counties and 280 employees. This month, it plans to open its 10th branch in Gardena. "One stark change we have seen over the years is that we are no longer a small bank.
