HANKS A LOT! : IT'S A WONDERFUL CASTING CALL.

For most readers who responded to our invitation to recast the Christmas classic ``It's a Wonderful Life,'' everyman actor Tom Hanks Noun 1. Tom Hanks - United States film actor (born in 1956)

by Jimmy Stewart. K.C. Durfee of Agoura even went so far as to call Hanks ``the Jimmy Stewart of the 1990s.''

After the lead role, there was little consensus among readers' casting picks, although there were a number of votes for hunk-of-the-moment Brad Pitt to play George's handsome younger brother Wiki is aware of the following uses of "'Younger Brother":

Daily News staff members chipped in, with one suggesting that Stewart now could play the old crab Mr. Potter.

We were surprised, however, that no one came up with what we think is the obvious casting choice for an X-mas movie - ``X-Filers'' David Duchovny as George and Gillian Armstrong as his lovely wife, Mary. The ``Cancer Man'' (William B. Davis For the Premier of Ontario from 1971-1985, see .

Just say `no'

In regards to ``It's a Wonderful Life'' remake suggestions, I have one. Don't remake the movie. In my opinion, there isn't an actor or actress in Hollywood today that could come anywhere close to playing any part in that wonderful movie. To even suggest that any actor could fill the shoes of any of the great actors in that movie is ridiculous.

The actors today that are making millions of dollars can't read scripts with words of more than four letters. Or maybe the blame there should go to the writers themselves. I sometimes think most of them didn't make it past the 3rd grade, as they can't spell words with more than four letters!

Like you said, ``if it isn't broke, why fix it.''
