                    Peterson Directed Handwriting
        Announces National Cursive Handwriting Contest Winners


PITTSBURGH, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- It may seem ironic, but experts at Peterson Directed Handwriting, the company that sends instructors to schools around the country to teach cursive handwriting skills, say that good handwriting is more important than ever -- because of computers.

Peterson has been working with young people to develop handwriting skills for 87 years. To reinforce the importance of these skills, Peterson sponsors the National Cursive Handwriting Contest each year. This year's national champions from grades 3 through 8 are:

The National Cursive Handwriting Contest is sponsored each year by Peterson Directed Handwriting, P.O. Box 249, Greensburg, PA 15601-0249. Send SASE SASE - Specific Application Service Element.
