In the ancient world sea travel was hazardous, but in modern times the number of shipwrecks due to nonhostile causes has steadily , featuring seven haunted mazes including one deep inside the bowels of the ship, live bands and a dance party.  Magic Mountain's Fright Fest Fright Fest is an event that takes place at Six Flags parks during the Halloween season. During Fright Fest, the parks are redecorated and some attractions are re-named or re-themed for the event. Participate by bringing a photo of a deceased person whom you would like to honor, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 2-Nov. 5 with a culmination ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 6. at Not a Cornfield Not A Cornfield was a 2005 art project that transformed a 32 acre industrial brownfield in the historic center of Los Angeles into a cornfield for one agricultural cycle. Dead Man's Party Halloween Bash, featuring an Oingo Boingo tribute band, costume contest, festive drinks and more, 9 p.m. until closing Oct. 31. $10 cover charge at Hard Rock Cafe Hard Rock Cafe is a chain of casual dining restaurants. Spooky Science: The Science of Werewolves, learn about metamorphosis, howl along with a virtual wolf pack, explore a spooky 3D village, get a trick-or-treat goody bag and meet a real wolf, through Nov. 1. Halloween Harvest Festival, featuring a corn maze, a home-grown pumpkin patch, Haunted House, pony rides and more. The haunted house turns into a more intense FrightFair Scream park at night. Spooky House Haunted Theme Park featuring four new attractions including ``Bloodshed Medical Center,'' and a new ``Monster Midway.''
