The following events are happening in the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. as part of a monthlong celebration of fall. Fillmore & Western Railway will once again host the popular Pumpkinliners, an excursion on a vintage train through the scenic Heritage Valley to a pumpkin patch where passengers can choose the perfect pumpkin. The trip is offered Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27 and includes a visit to the Gull Wings Children's Museum-on-the-Go, and an amusement area for children will be provided by local youngsters at the patch. The cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $7 for children ages 4 to 12 and $5 for infants to age 3. OctoberFest Family Supper Trains also will be offered Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27 and will take passengers on an afternoon trip to the pumpkin patch, then serve supper on the return trip to Fillmore. The typical OctoberFest menu includes a special Halloween treat for dessert. The cost is $27 for adults, $16 for children ages 4 to 12 and $5 for infants to age 3. The Murder Mystery Dinner Trains offered Saturday nights year-round at Fillmore & Western will have a Fright Night theme during the month of October. The evening will feature dinner and some hearty laughs as experiments go hilariously awry. The cost is $79 per person.
