It's been more than 30 years since Maya Wolfson and her volleyball volleyball, outdoor or indoor ball and net game played on a level court. An upright net, 3 ft (or 1 m) high, the top of which stands 8 ft (2.43 m) from the ground for men, 7 ft 4 1/8 in (2.  teammates accomplished a 36-0 season and a state championship for Los Angeles Valley College LAVC redirects here. The university is adjacent to Grant High School. Often called "Valley College" or simply "Valley" by those who frequent the campus, it opened its doors to the public on September 12, 1949, at which time the campus was

But the 1976 team's induction into Valley's Athletic Hall of Fame, which is being launched this year, has Wolfson digging out those fond memories of friendship, hard work and success.

"We got along really well there was little to no drama, we were about getting the job done on the court," Wolfson said. "We would change personalities once that ball was served.

"There's a lot of stuff I don't remember, but (the induction) makes me think about the season all the time now."

The induction banquet, at 5:30 p.m. today at Valley, will be commemorating com·mem·o·rate

the specially chosen athletes, teams, athletic personnel and organizations who have all had the chance to share the thrill that Wolfson is a part of.

Wolfson's coach at the time, Diedra Stark, still works at Valley and has for 35 years. She has been a member of the Hall of Fame committee that helped research achievements, create the ballot of possible inductees and then narrow them, as well as organize the banquet.

"I'm extremely excited for the girls, for all of them, they were a phenomenal team," Stark said. "They made goals and they met all their goals; they couldn't have had a better season."

Although Wolfson and Stark keep in touch with one another and a few teammates who still live in the area, the reunion is set to make a memorable weekend.

"This time, everyone will be together, so that will be very exciting," Stark said.

What will come full circle tonight started fiveyears ago. Director of foundation Raul Castillo has had the pleasure to see the process since the start.

"The reason why we wanted to do it was to honor those who have participated in LAVC LAVC Los Angeles Valley College

Wolfson, a former left-side hitter, uses the same kind of game plan she learned from that season, but in a different platform with her students in her health class at East Valley High in North Hollywood.

"I provide them with the necessary information, the pathway to obtaining their goals, and encourage them to maintain a positive work ethic work ethic
