HAITIAN CONSUL FIRED FOR CORRUPTION.

Winston Stclaire, Panama's consul in Haiti, was dismissed by the Foreign Ministry for granting visas in "irregular" ways, said Foreign Minister Jose Miguel Aleman, reports Xinhua News Agency (May 3, 2001). Aleman said that on repeated instances, and in spite of warnings, Stclaire gave restricted visas without Foreign Ministry authorization.
