HAHN WILLING TO MEET INYO COUNTY OFFICIALS.

Byline: James Nash Staff Writer

Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Mayor James Hahn For the Iowa politician, see .

James Kenneth "Jim" Hahn (born July 3, 1950) is an American politician from the Democratic Party. He was the Deputy City Attorney (1975-1979), City Controller (1981-1985), City Attorney (1985-2001) and Mayor of Los Angeles, California
is willing to meet with Inyo County leaders who objected to a Hahn-appointed commissioner's attempt to link an airport lease in the Eastern Sierra county Sierra County is the name of several counties in the United States:
  • Sierra County, California
  • Sierra County, New Mexico
with extracting more water from the area, a top Hahn deputy said Friday.

Deputy Mayor Doane Liu said Hahn would consider Inyo County officials' request for the city to extend a 20-year lease for a regional airport on DWP-owned land in Bishop. But Hahn hasn't committed to granting the request, Liu said.

Inyo County supervisors requested the audience with Hahn after the Hahn-appointed head of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners, Dominick Rubalcava, rebuffed their request to extend the airport lease by four years by asking Inyo County to offer something in return. Inyo officials interpreted Rubalcava's statement as a demand for more water from the Owens Valley This articlearticle or section has multiple issues:

 and opposed it.

The failure to extend the lease cost Inyo County about $1.5 million in federal funds Federal Funds

to upgrade airports in Bishop and Lone Pine, officials said.

``The Bishop airport has been leased to the county since the 1920s and operated continuously as an airport,'' Inyo County supervisors wrote in a letter to Hahn that the Mayor's Office said it received Friday.

``One might understand some delay if there were thorny issues such as a request for more land, a change of use, or other special needs,'' the supervisors wrote. ``That is not the case here.

``I am certain this matter could be resolved with a stroke of your pen if the DWP DWP Department of Work and Pensions (UK)
DWP Drinking Water Program
DWP Dynamic Weapon Pricing (gamin, Counter-Strike: Source)
DWP Department of Water & Power
DWP Drinking Water Protection
were not holding our airport leases as a bargaining chip.''
