 capital of the world. Homes & Property marked that creativity in contemporary applied arts in its annual Best Domestic Product Awards at Origin. Both winners experiment with materials and processes to create beautiful and functional objects for the home.

Week One winner: Lucian Taylor: Lucian has a track record as an innovative maker of new forms, techniques and materials including kinds of silver.

His latest pieces in polished stainlesssteel are dynamic and unusual. Although rigid they look as if they were made from squashed silver balloons.

To create his plumped range Lucian fuses computer-aided design computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), form of automation that helps designers prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and other design-related elements using special graphics- and calculations-intensive  with the traditional and not-so traditional hand techniques.
