Watch out, overly sensitive gays: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang might rub you the wrong way, even as it normalizes gayness in a genre never known for its queer characters. The reason? It's full of jokes leveled at Val Kilmer's character--named Gay Perry, get it?--a tough homo private eye who gets involved with Robert Downey Jr.'s actor-turned-thief. The pair dodge bullets while rattling off machine-gun banter on the road to a reunited "Reunited" was a #1 hit in the United States in 1979 by the Washington, D.C.-based group Peaches & Herb.
