Gulf Air honours Bahraini trainee engineers.

Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air honoured 28 trainee engineers on the successful completion of their two year on-the-job-training with the airline.

This is the second group of candidates which has completed its two-year training with Gulf Air. The voluntary training was provided as part of the airline's Corporate Social Responsibility programme to develop local talents, said a statement from Gulf Air.

Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali congratulated the trainees at a special ceremony held at Gulf Air Headquarters in the presence of Mohammed Khalil Abdulla Alawainati, Nadia Al Gosaibi and Ali Hussain Al-Balooshi from BAS, also Abber Al Matooq from Tamkeen.

Presenting the credentials to the trainees, Majali said, "I am pleased to see the second batch of bright and young Bahrainis completing their training at Gulf Air. The training reinforces our commitment to developing Bahraini talent and I am glad that the national carrier has joined hands with Tamkeen in providing this valuable training opportunity." "I am sure the intensive training you received in various units of Gulf Air's technical and engineering departments has prepared you well with necessary technical skills, knowledge and practical experience to have a successful career," he noted. The trainees came to Gulf Air after completing their initial theoretical training at Bahrain Airport Services (BAS). The training programme was sponsored by Tamkeen.

Gulf Air had signed a MoU with Tamkeen to provide on-the-job-training for a group of trainee engineers for a period of two years in order to complete the technical requirements for graduating as certified engineers.

This is a 4-year programme in which candidates undergo two years of theoretical studies with BAS followed by two years' practical training at Gulf Air.- TradeArabia News Service
