In the discussion, Dr. Chan proposed the creation of an International Institute for Advanced Study, citing a similar program founded in Princeton. "An opportunity exists today to use technology to balance the needs of our environment with the needs of our economy," said Dr. Chan. "The foundation of this new Institute would join together top-notch experts from around the world to nurture creative ideas while taking a global view of our economic and environmental needs. We can apply the best thinking, the best technology from around the world to find commercial solutions that move society towards sustainable development." "The situation in Asia mirrors the world," he added. "We must meet the challenge of sustainable growth with the technological opportunities that are just above the horizon. I believe that we have an opportunity to integrate the economic and technological needs of East and West in an economic model that can benefit everyone." The UC Davis Institute for Transportation Studies is known for expertise in travel behavior and transport systems modeling, to prepare students for transportation decision-making of the future. The Institute partners with academic and research centers on and off campus, and with industry, government, and nongovernmental organizations around the world. ZAP said it has entertained discussions of cooperative research projects and grants with the University. Mr. Chan and Mr. Schneider discussed the possibility with university research official Daniel Sperling, including possible programs such as a "Big Bang big bang Model of the origin of the universe, which holds that it emerged from a state of extremely high temperature and density in an explosive expansion 10 billion–15 billion years ago. " competition that would help students explore business opportunities targeting emerging technologies. Professor Chan called a summit meeting of ZAP's top advisors and board members at ZAP World Headquarters in downtown Santa Rosa, California Santa Rosa is the county seat of Sonoma County, California, USA.
