Grubb & Ellis taps JLL's David Arena to lead firm's growth.


Grubb & Ellis Company announced that it is executing its strategic goal of significantly expanding its presence in New York New York, state, United States

 with the hiring of real estate executive, David Arena, as President of its New York Region, effective immediately.

Arena joins Grubb & Ellis from Jones Lang LaSalle Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is a major real estate and money management services firm headquartered in the Aon Center in Chicago, Illinois and the only company in its industry making it into Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S.  where as Chief Strategy Officer he was part of the senior management team responsible for the firm's New York business.

As President of Grubb & Ellis' New York region, Arena, 44, will be responsible for directing the growth of the company's real estate activities in the region.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 2002, he spent nine years at Morgan Stanley and rose to become a managing director and head of Corporate Services. Arena began his real estate career at Tishman Speyer Properties in 1986 and spent seven years as a property and asset manager there.

A native New Yorker, Arena holds a bachelor's degree from Fordham University and serves in many charitable organizations. In addition, he is involved in a number of real estate organizations, including Urban Land Institute, CoreNet Global and REBNY REBNY Real Estate Board of New York .
