Growing Lighting & Systems Controls Manufacturer Selects Glovia to Manage Companywide Operations; Genlyte Controls Chooses Glovia to Enhance Operational Visibility and Standardize the Company on a Single Enterprise Solution.

EL SEGUNDO El Segundo (ĕl sēgŭn`dō), industrial city (1990 pop. 15,223), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1917. Its products include navigation and computer systems, aircraft parts, office machines, telephone apparatus, and , Calif. -- Glovia International, a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a leading provider of extended ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  solutions for engineer-to-order and high-volume manufacturers, announced today that Genlyte Controls has selected Glovia's extended ERP solution, glovia.com, to manage their companywide operations. Glovia's enterprise solution will replace their outdated systems and provide comprehensive operational visibility.

Since the year 2000, Genlyte Control's business has been growing exponentially making their homegrown systems and older products unable to provide the scope and functionality needed by the expanding company. Glovia is able to flex and expand as the company grows, managing all of Genlyte Controls operations with one proven enterprise solution. Genlyte Controls began implementing glovia.com this past January and is on target for going live this July.

"We hope our company will be used as a Glovia model for our sister companies," states Jeff Brown

, Director of IT and Compliance for Genlyte Controls.

"We are an engineering company, so one of our main goals with Glovia is to smooth out the transition from engineering to manufacturing and be able to see in advance what something is going to cost before we build it," continues Brown. "The capabilities we saw during the Glovia demonstrations fit our manufacturing and engineering needs and will be able to continue to do so as we grow and expand."

Having multiple systems makes it difficult for Genlyte Controls to have comprehensive visibility into their operations. Glovia will enable Genlyte Controls to have integrated, interactive management of all their inventory and full visibility of all material movement. Through flexible product configuration control they will quickly and accurately be able to calculate the cost to manufacture a product, reducing the risk of costly, obsolete inventory Obsolete Inventory

.

Order entry is also currently causing Genlyte Controls issues, as their multiple systems require double entry of their sales orders. With Glovia the company will have a single, integrated online environment for entering and processing their sales orders as well as the ability to manage their physical distribution of inventory.

"We are very excited to have Genlyte Controls as a customer. By choosing glovia.com, they will be able to move away from their multiple systems to a single, flexible, integrated and real-time enterprise solution that can effectively manage their business operations Business operations are those activities involved in the running of a business for the purpose of producing value for the stakeholders.
