Growers for Wheat Biotechnology.

Growers for Wheat Biotechnology (GWB) has developed a strategy for providing information and education about the benefits of biotechnology for consumers and the wheat industry. "Our core messages are that 1) foods derived from crops enhanced through biotechnology are absolutely safe for consumers, and regulatory processes are in place to insure that safety; 2) that biotechnology offers great benefits for our environment; and 3) that biotechnology offers additional benefits for consumers, processors and producers, now and in the future," says Allan Skogen, chairman of the GWB. The group has launched a Web site, www.growersforwheatbiotechnology.org, to provide general information about wheat biotechnology and monitor international developments on the biotechnology front. GWB will continue its efforts to distribute information through the media about wheat biotechnology and to serve as spokespersons on the issue.
