When group member Linda Beaudry bought the winning ticket, the group had just started playing together. "Each person is responsible for buying $25-worth of CASH 5 tickets for the Friday drawing." Linda admits, "It was our fourth week of playing together and it was my turn to buy."

Linda bought the tickets at the Giant Eagle where they are employed, and she simply threw them in her purse, punched the time clock and worked the day. That evening, she went home and relaxed with her husband on their porch porch

Linda notes, "I didn't think to check the tickets. It wasn't until Saturday morning before I went to work that I checked the newspaper for the winning Lottery numbers. I looked at the tickets ... and thought `wait a minute, our numbers are matching the winning numbers!'" The first play on the very first ticket Linda checked had matched all five numbers!

When Linda got to work she told George (Freeman) that they had won the CASH 5 and he thought she was kidding. They verified that the ticket, indeed, was a winner and spread the good news to the other members.

The group also took another "cut" of the jackpot by matching four-of-five numbers for $277 on another ticket for the same drawing. All tickets were played the quick-pick method.

Linda plans to purchase a new vehicle and will use her winnings for a down payment on a home.

George Freeman and his wife, Debbi, recently built a new home and will use the Lottery winnings for home additions; Tony DeLuca plans to pay off his home and share his winnings with his family; Randy Van Meter, 37, has planned a cruise to the Bahamas and would like to get some new furniture and golf clubs; and Ron Penkert said the winnings came at the perfect time ... he needs a new roof on his home.

The Giant Eagle co-workers are still playing the Lottery together.

To play CASH 5, players select five numbers from 1 to 39. Players must match all five winning numbers drawn to win the top jackpot prize. CASH 5 jackpots start at $100,000 and continue to roll until someone wins. The Pennsylvania Lottery also pays players for matching four-, three- and two-of-five winning CASH 5 numbers.
