Opening in 2008, Red Bull Park will serve as the official home to The New York Red Bulls Major League Soccer team. The venue also will host concerts and other entertainment events, international soccer matches, additional sporting competitions and other special events.

The stadium is the cornerstone to the $1 billion Harrison MetroCentre Development, the largest such renewal initiative currently underway in New Jersey, with 3,500 housing units, three million square feet of class A office space and 300,000 square feet of retail space.

"Red Bull Park will be one of the most exciting sports and entertainment venues in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area, drawing people year-round to soccer matches, concerts, sports competitions and community events," said AEG CEO and President Timothy J. Leiweke.

"The shovels are in the ground and this long-awaited project is becoming a reality," said AEG New York President Nick Sakiewicz. "Red Bull Park and Harrison MetroCenter will enrich the lives of metropolitan area sports and entertainment fans. Most importantly, this stadium in a beautiful waterfront setting will help Harrison develop as a thriving, economically sound community."

Red Bull New York managing director Marc de Grandpre said, "Red Bull Park will finally give this team and its supporters a true, permanent home, which is something the organization has yet to have in its 11-year history. Everything about the stadium--the architecture, the sight lines and the overall feel of the venue--is specifically designed with the sport of soccer in mind."

"We are excited about the start of construction for Red Bull Park, which is an important component of our Harrison MetroCentre mixed-use urban redevelopment project," commented Peter J. Cocoziello, president & CEO of Advance Realty Group, master developer of Harrison MetroCentre.

"This milestone has been a longtime in the making and the result of a tremendous amount of teamwork between the State of New Jersey, Hudson County, the Town of Harrison, the Red Bulls and Advance Realty Group. We're one step closer to the dream of Harrison MetroCentre becoming a reality."

AEG and Red Bull have committed $100 million for construction of the stadium that will feature a 360-degree 'European-style' roof covering the majority of the seating area, a hospitality area featuring 53 luxury suites, locker room facilities and a ound and lighting system custom tailored to the facility surroundings.

As part of the public-private partnership, Hudson County has allocated $60 million to roadway infrastructure and parking facilities, while the Town of Harrison allotted al·lot
