In November, the company announced that they had retained the investment banking firm of Piper Jaffray Piper Jaffray & Co. (NYSE: PJC), often shortened to just Piper Jaffray or PiperJaffray, is a U.S. middle-market investment banking firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is a focused on delivering financial advice, investment products and transaction execution  Inc., to assist the company in exploring its strategic alternatives. With this announcement, the board of directors has established a firm direction for the company's future.

Roeper has served as the company's chief operating officer since July, 1998; executive vice president, finance, administration and operations since December 1997; as secretary of the company since October 1997; and as chief financial officer and treasurer of the company since November 1994.

Prior to joining Vodavi, Roeper was employed from 1982 - 1994, by Arthur Andersen LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , as a senior manager.
