Greet Street Changes Name to E-greetings Network; New Name Reflects Company's Breadth of Partnerships, Strengthening of Content and Expanding Distribution Channels.

According to Levitan, the company was not able to fully realize its plans at first. "Our 'vision' had to wait a number of years for the technology of the internet to catch up. The internet's technology platform is finally emerging, although still at a rudimentary level," Levitan explained.

"The name change to E-greetings Network reinforces our intent to be the internet's dominant provider of enhanced E-mail products, with the largest content supplier and distribution partner networks in the industry," he added.

More than 60 million people currently use E-mail on a regular basis, with this number expected to more than double within the next few years. "Most people are still using standard text-only E-mail, which certainly gets the job done but quite frankly isn't very interesting," Levitan asserted.

According to industry analysts at Forrester Research, 25 percent of all personal E-mail by the year 2001 will contain some form of "sensory enhancement" through the use of various combinations of graphics, illustrations, sound and animation.

"Our E-greetings service provides customers with a way to reflect their personality in E-mail -- to make it stand out and be a heck of a lot more fun. The more than one million customers we have served so far this year is all the convincing we need that E-greetings represent a whole new way of communicating in the digital age," Levitan concluded.

"The new E-greetings Network name also paves the way for our eventual entry into other potential market areas and business models," added Fred Campbell, E-greetings Network's co-founder and Creator of Substance. With the name change to E-greetings Network, the company introduces a new logo and updated look to its website (http://www.egreetings.com). The new E-greetings Network logo is made up of the lower-case letter "e" reversed out in white within a red cartoon "voice bubble," followed by the word "greetings" in black in the same distinctive script-like font.

The new E-greetings Network logo was designed by Mark Fox of Marin County, California-based design firm BlackDog, whose other clients include Apple Computer, Levi Strauss & Co., San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Warner Brothers.

"This new logo reinforces our E-greetings brand, which we feel is the premier brand name in the digital greetings industry," said E-greetings Network's "Brand Breeder" Michi Kustra, who is responsible for implementing the company's name change.

E-greetings Network's unrivaled range of content -- more than 2,500 different E-greetings and growing -- includes messages appropriate for specific holidays or personal milestones like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as everyday or "anytime" greetings and business correspondence. Most E-greetings cost 50 cents to send, but a broad selection is always available free of charge.

E-greetings provide senders and recipients alike with ample opportunity for personal expression that is unattainable with standard "sensory impaired" text-only E-mail. Many of these images are licensed in cooperation with Cincinnati, Ohio-based greeting card company Gibson Greetings (Nasdaq:GIBG).
