"117 Seventh Avenue South at Sheridan Square, is on one of the major crossroads of the Village," said Aquino, managing director. "The daily pedestrian traffic is incredible, eighteen hours a day, seven days a week - everyone walks in the Village."
"Greenwich Village," continued Consolo, vice chairman, "is a distinct section of New York. It is unlike any other part. It was named "Greenwich" after a town outside of London, by Sir Peter Warren when New York was British. It was his plantation. It gradually evolved into a real Village north of the city. The city grew up around it, not through it, which gives the Village a sense of separateness in the midst of the roar and confusion of Manhattan. This atmosphere is what attracted artists and writers who lived here in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Most of them are gone now, but the reputation of bohemia they left behind still lingers. It is a collection of the old and the new, dowdy and chic, conservative and way -far-out -- independents that work together and make Greenwich Village unique. Its diversity has attracted an up-scale, prosperous population that enjoys living and raising their families in this special neighborhood. Thousands of tourists and sightseers visit the area, annually, for the same reason."
Aquino added, "Neighboring retailers are GNC, CVS Pharmacy, Gourmet Garage, Jekyll & Hyde, Citibank, Duplex Cabaret, Federal Express, and New York Sports Club, a cross section of major retailers on this major cross section in Greenwich Village. Truly, 117 Seven Avenue South is an ideal location for a shop or boutique in a singular and eclectic part of the New York City world."
