Greensboro Bats.

Greensboro voters defeated a proposed ordinance that would have prevented a minor-league baseball stadium being built downtown by nearly a 3-to-2 margin. But opponents are still challenging the city's contention that zoning rules allow the $20 million ballpark to be built there in a case before the N.C. Court of Appeals. The stadium is scheduled to open for the 2005 season of the Greensboro Bats, a Class A affiliate of the Florida Marlins.
