developed jointly by Computer Visualizations Inc. and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is a professional association of medical doctors specializing in obstetrics and gynecology in the United States. It has a membership of over 49,000[1] and represents 90 percent of U.S.  (ACOG ACOG American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

). HealthLink will market, distribute and sell ACOG-PACE (TM) throughout North America. Its initial effort will be in the United States.

ACOG-PACE (TM) is designed to allow Ob/Gyns the ability to communicate clear, consistent informed consent information to their patients. The system and its learning modules help each patient clearly understand treatment options, risks, benefits and outcomes and provides a report for both patients and physicians, decreasing the likelihood of unrealistic patient expectations, the underlying cause of many lawsuits.

According to Medical Economics magazine, a University of Rochester/Highland Hospital study of 140 depositions in malpractice suits indicates that "failure to provide an explanation" was cited in 35 per cent of the cases.

A recent article in The Globe and Mail stated practicing obstetrics was considered financially risky because the Ontario government no longer provides subsidies for malpractice insurance.

The ACOG-PACE (TM) system has been recognized by four leading malpractice insurers in the United States as providing a means to reduce exposure to medical malpractice awards. A malpractice insurance discount is offered to Ob/Gyns in the United States who utilize ACOG-PACE (TM).

ACOG-PACE (TM) was developed by a special ACOG task force comprised of representatives from ACOG's professional liability, quality assessment, clinical practice, and education committees; major malpractice insurance companies, and malpractice defense attorneys.
