Greene, Broillet Will Hold a Press Conference Tuesday to Announce a Product Liability Lawsuit Against a Pharmaceutical Maker of an OTC Brand of Ibuprofen for Children.
WHAT: The family of a 7-year old girl, along with her attorneys
Browne Greene and Geoff Wells, will hold a press conference
on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Firm's
offices, 100 Wilshire Boulevard, 21st Floor,
Santa Monica, CA.
At that time, they will announce the filing of a product
liability lawsuit against a leading pharmaceutical company
which makes and distributes a popular over-the-counter brand
of ibuprofen for children. The lawsuit will allege that the
drug maker's failure to warn the public about the possible
risk of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome makes this children's
product unsafe and dangerous to sell to customers.
WHO: A little girl, then age-6, came home from school complaining
of a fever. Her parents gave her a popular over-the-counter
brand of ibuprofen for children, which carried no warning
labels of the possible risk of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a
severe, adverse skin reaction. As a result of taking this
medicine, the child (through her parents as guardian ad
litem) will allege that she suffered from Stevens-Johnson
Syndrome and is now blind and suffers serious, ongoing
medical problems as a consequence.
