The Indian study represents one of the largest national effort to date by any country to enact electronic commerce legislation. The announcement was made by India's Commerce Ministry at EDICON '98, an international electronic commerce/electronic data interchange conference and exhibition held recently in New Delhi New Delhi (dĕl`ē), city (1991 pop. 294,149), capital of India and of Delhi state, N central India, on the right bank of the Yamuna River. .
