Greenbacks boost forward options; EVO-STIK ONE CENTRAL.
The 27-year-old joined the Greenbacks over the weekend but not in time for Saturday's trip to Uxbridge although he'll make his debut for the club in tonight's home clash with Leighton Town as Steve Farmer's men look for maximum points to strengthen their top-four place in the table.
With leading marksman Ashley Robinson harshly sent off in the 1-1 draw at Uxbridge at the weekend for the second time this term and now facing a three-match ban, the arrival of Corbett comes at a perfect time. Farmer said: "To get someone of Luke's experience and quality is a fantastic coup for the club. He's a prolific goalscorer and will give me some extra options going into the run-in.
"He's not been able to hold down a regular place in Leamington's starting line-up and maybe needed a new challenge."
The United chief was disappointed with Robinson's dismissal adding: "The referee was conned by the antics of the Uxbridge keeper, who went down holding his face under Ashley's challenge.
"However, after being cautioned I don't think Ash should get into those situations."
He added: "What was pleasing was we did a great job with ten men to hold on to a point which could be very valuable comes the end of the season.
"But we need a win against Leighton. We drew 0-0 at their place so we know it won't be simple although our home form has improved recently so anything other than a victory would be a setback."
United skipper Ian Roper (knee) is doubtful while fellow centre-back Kyle Cartwright (groin) is a definite absentee.
