Green conference starts next week.


The National Association of Home Builders' National Green Building Conference will feature a tour of Albuquerque green-built homes, an awards gala, exhibits and seminars, and great news from the Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico The center of the U.S. state New Mexico. On Friday, March 10, the Albuquerque-based association will unveil its own voluntary green building certification program. Based on NAHB's Model Green Home Building Guidelines guidelines,
n.pl a set of standards, criteria, or specifications to be used or followed in the performance of certain tasks.
, the program will provide home buyers with assurance that their new homes are built to conserve resources and are environmentally sensitive, energy efficient and cost-effective.

More than 900 builders, remodelers, developers, architects, engineers, exhibitors and environmental experts are expected to attend the event.

The conference will kick off Saturday, March 11 with a golf tournament, followed Sunday with a bus tour of six Albuquerque area green-built homes for a detailed look at construction techniques, landscape architecture and cutting-edge design. Sunday evening will feature the National Green Building Awards gala, honoring significant single-family, multi-family and commercial projects from around the country.
