Green building conference to come alive at Cambrian College.


Both the history and the future of energy-efficient building design and construction will be examined at the one-day Living Building Conference and Trade Show held Sep. 27 at Sudbury's Cambrian College Cambrian College is a college of applied arts and technology in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1967, and funded by the province of Ontario, Cambrian has campuses in Sudbury, Espanola and Little Current. .

To be located in the college's eDome, the conference will focus on how to build homes, and some of the prevailing trends in a climate change era.

The event will feature various speakers, including Jason F. McLennan, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of the Cascadia Green Building Council, and Peter Love, Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer.

An accompanying trade show will feature displays from green builders, alternative energy businesses as well as manufacturers.

The event ties into Cambrian's plans to build a research and education facility known as the Sustainable Energy

"Given that the expected life-span of a home exceeds 50 years, and that energy costs are increasing, it is important that homes we build today are as energy-efficient as possible."
