Green Mountain Power Holds Community Energy Fair.


COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Green Mountain Power will hold its third "Community Energy Fair" on Saturday, September 9, outside of its offices in Colchester, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Described as "Part festival. Part science fair. All fun.," the free event includes energy games for children, energy efficiency and safety information for adults, and rides in the elevated bucket of a linetruck. In addition, candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and Vermont governor will be on site at during the day to discuss Vermont energy issues.

"We wanted to offer the community a day of fun and a way to help folks learn about energy. All of us at Green Mountain Power are looking forward to hosting our customers and treating them to a great day," said Chris Dutton, Green Mountain Power's president and chief executive officer.

Green Mountain Power has arranged for some more unusual exhibits, including solar-powered smoothies, a solar-powered bus, juggling and the Steel Rail bluegrass bluegrass, any species of the large and widely distributed genus Poa, chiefly range and pasture grasses of economic importance in temperate and cool regions.
