), an industry consortium that offers the first China-based integrated component and subsystem supply chain for communications companies that manufacture products in China, was introduced in the U.S. today. GCPS allows optical companies to reduce the cost of their products by taking advantage of high-quality, low-cost supplies made in China. Customers can easily access a broad range of products that encompass everything from fiber to optical components and subsystems via a single point of contact.

"Many optical companies go to China for low-cost manufacturing, but they overlook the potential benefits of outsourcing in China," said Simon Cao, PhD, chairman of GCPS and founder and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Arasor Corporation. "Instead, they buy materials, subcomponents, and components in the U.S. and Japan and ship them to China, and these materials account for the majority of product costs. GCPS helps communications companies reduce component costs by using quality materials and sub-components made locally in China."

Arasor Corporation is the founding member of GCPS. Other members of the consortium include industry leaders AocTel Inc.; Browave Corporation; Comcore Optical Technologies, Inc.; Ningbo Yunsheng Optical Communication Technology Inc.; and Sinoceramics, Inc.

Industry leader embraces the formation of GCPS "We welcome the formation of GCPS," said Mr. Bao Yong Zheng, vice-chairman of the board of directors and CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey.  of Huawei Technologies, the largest system supplier in China and one of the world's leading telecommunications suppliers. "We expect the establishment of a China-based, low-cost, integrated component supply chain will help system integrators realize significant cost savings and increase their competitive edge."
