Located at 429 Court Street, Suite 2, in Elko, Nevada, the new Data Center will house the data processing, bookkeeping, proof, accounting and finance functions of Great Basin Bank, according to Donald Martin, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Great Basin Financial Corporation. Great Basin Bank personnel are scheduled to move into the new 5,000-square-foot Data Center after bank hours on July 9, and resume operations in the new location for end-of-the-day processing on July 10. Martin assures bank customers, "they should see virtually no interruption of service with this move." He further explained, "A total of 13 employees will be moved to the Data Center, from our current location on the second floor of the main Bank building at 487 Railroad Street in Elko." Martin said the Data Center will provide a number of advantages for bank personnel and their customers. "The move was necessitated by new check processing and data capture equipment that will increase our processing speed from 250 documents per minute to 850. The layout of the facility will be more efficient and allow us to maintain high security in these sensitive areas." In the customers' best interest, Martin explained that the new equipment will ensure efficient check and statement handling, and the Bank's ability to continue to give customers visibility of their checks. "At a time when many banks are limiting access to processed checks as a cost-saving measure, this new equipment positions Great Basin Bank to have a cost-effective way to make sure customers will always have access to their checks, even though it might be in a different form." The Data Center will also house a meeting room and in-house training facilities.
