Graphsoft common stock now marginable; Graphsoft comments on status of MiniCad for Windows.


COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 1996--Diehl Graphsoft, Inc. ("Graphsoft") (The Nasdaq SmallCap Market: DIEG), a leading developer of 2D/3D computer aided design (application) Computer Aided Design - (CAD) The part of CAE concerning the drawing or physical layout steps of engineering design. In other news, Graphsoft announced that it expects to begin shipment of its much anticipated cross-platform MiniCad 6 for Windows software product before the end of its fiscal year ended May 31, 1996. The product, which is currently in beta testing (programming) beta testing - Testing a pre-release (potentially unreliable) version of a piece of software by making it available to selected users. This term derives from early 1960s terminology for product cycle checkpoints, first used at IBM but later standard throughout the , will offer the same features that have helped to make Graphsoft the Macintosh market leader in CAD technology and resulted in MiniCad winning several industry awards, including the prestigious Macworld 1996 World Class Award for CAD.

For instance, if you have a whole day to travel 100 km, spending $50 to do the journey in two hours is a better price/performance ratio than  as our MiniCad for Mac OS product."

Mr. Diehl continued, "In preparation for the release of MiniCad for Windows, we have hired several new employees to complement our customer service, marketing and engineering departments. Furthermore, in order to accommodate anticipated growth, we recently added an additional 5,000 square feet of space to our corporate headquarters. Of this space, 2,000 square feet is being used to expand our shipping and handling department and the remainder is being used primarily to house our marketing and engineering staff."

Diehl Graphsoft is a leading developer and marketer of 2D/3D CAD software for the Apple Macintosh and Power Macintosh. A CAD system for or use with Microsoft's Windows software was also recently unveiled with shipments expected to begin before May 31, 1996. Now in its sixth release, Graphsoft's flagship software, MiniCad, has approximately 73,000 license sites in 80 countries. MiniCad has received many prestigious domestic and international awards, including the Macworld World Class Award for CAD, the MacUser Editors Choice Award for CAD, the Australian Macworld Class Award and the Switzerland Macworld Best CAD Award.
