Grantham University Selected as E-Training Partner by the Federal Government; University is Part of GoLearn.gov's Higher Education Online Degree Consortium.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Grantham University, specializing in educating working adults, was selected by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM See Oracle Process Manufacturing. ) GoLearn.gov initiative as one of five schools to participate in an online degree consortium. The e-training initiative facilitates professional development and career advancement for all federal and military employees, as well as contractors to the federal government. "Our goal is to bring our expertise in online education to participating students and to continue our long-standing commitment to federal government employees and their career advancement," said Tom Macon, chairman of Grantham University. GoLearn.gov's e-training initiative was on the President's Management Agenda The President's Management Agenda is an initiative, announced by U.S. President George W. Bush in 2001, to make the U.S. federal government more efficient and effective. In its drive to make government more "citizen-centered, market-based, and results-oriented," the agenda in 2002 for improving the performance of the Executive Branch of Government. It was designed to support the development of the Federal workforce and advance agency missions by providing one-stop access to high-quality e-Learning products, information and services. To date, the following federal agencies are participating in the GoLearn.gov online degree consortium: Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Energy, Health & Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Transportation, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Federal Communications Commission Federal Communications Commission (FCC), independent executive agency of the U.S. government established in 1934 to regulate interstate and foreign communications in the public interest. The groups include: Blacks in Government (BIG), Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC), National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers (NCHEPM), National Image Inc., and Federally Employed Women (FEW).
