The GQ Lounge San Francisco underscores the magazine's commitment to create exciting and non-traditional ways for its advertisers and consumers to come together on a new level and in a new place -- a visually edgy, tech-driven club atmosphere.

Designed for GQ by EventQuest, the GQ Lounge San Francisco will feature the latest in video and technical installations representing the magazine's key advertisers, and will bring the Bay Area two weeks of not-to-miss top music acts and club happenings in an ultra-modern atmosphere. The advertisers who are co-sponsoring the GQ Lounge San Francisco at DragonBar include: Black - Kenneth Cole Kenneth Cole is the name of:

, David Yurman, The Glenlivet, Jameson, Kenneth Cole New York, Martell Cognac, Miller Genuine Draft, Paul Mitchell Systems and Toyota Solara. In addition to their striking video installations, many of the advertisers will offer club goers free samples of their products.

"The GQ Lounge concept has proved an enormous success for GQ and all our advertisers who have participated," said Peter King Hunsinger, vice president and publisher of GQ. "They tell us that The GQ Lounge has proved to be a perfect environment for an intimate and personal session of world-class brand-building."

Some of the advertisers' cutting-edge installations will include: Paul Mitchell Systems' two back-lit lenticulars (3-D structures) representing his product line; Kenneth Cole's trademark provocative graffiti-like phrases will be spelled out in large, white vinyl letters inside bathroom stalls. The stalls will also hold magazine racks with advance reading copies of Cole's new book Footnotes, to be published this month; David Yurman's installation will feature a special Yurman lounge with titanium-draped banquettes and spheres displaying the designer's jewelry; a spot-lit Toyota Solara will be displayed in front of DragonBar; and each of Pernod Ricard's brands -- Jameson, Martell, Chivas and The Glenlivet - will have its own distinctive area within the lounge with a specialty cocktail.

The first-ever GQ Lounge was created and brought to life by the magazine in 2002 with the GQ Lounge at the Sunset Room in Los Angeles that attracted celebrities as diverse as Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Jesse Jackson, Tobey Maguire and Vince Vaughn. It was also the site of a Grammy party, an NAACP NAACP

Unlike many one-time-only events, The GQ Lounges bring America's hottest cities two weeks of the coolest DJs and music acts against a backdrop of stunning video installations. The next stop for The GQ Lounge is Miami, where it will have its Grand Opening at Mynt on November 12, 2003.
