Horace Judson, the former president of Plattsburgh State University of New York, will step into the president's position at Grambling State University (LA) on June 1. Grambling, whose financial struggles jeopardized its accreditation in recent years, hired Judson with the school's past in mind. He is known for his fundraising and financial management abilities. However, Judson was also the focus of controversy at Plattsburgh, specifically for his hiring practices. There he was criticized for moving several staffers to lower-level positions, and for hiring his wife to fill a position she was previously denied. Judson resigned the Plattsburgh presidency last year after a faculty union backed a referendum against him.
