Graham Paxton Named President & CEO of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile LLC.

The Mobile Group of Siemens AG today announced that Graham F. Paxton has been named President and CEO of the San Diego-based Siemens Information and Communication Mobile LLC (IC Mobile), effective Dec. 1, 2000.

IC Mobile was formed in April 2000, and offers a complete range of mobile business products including devices, infrastructure and applications. The company aims to become one of the top three players in the worldwide mobile business market within the next few years. The company will enter the North American handset market in the first quarter of 2001 with an innovative cell phone, the S40, which operates on all three GSM frequencies.

"Graham Paxton will be instrumental in broadening the Siemens mobile presence in the North American market, and in re-positioning the Siemens mobile business in the continually consolidating mobile market," said Rudi Lamprecht, president of the Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group, based in Munich, Germany, and a board member of Siemens AG. "It is Siemens' goal to significantly strengthen our presence in the United States, and we are confident that with Graham's leadership, we will accomplish this vision."

Paxton was most recently executive vice president and a member of the executive board of Siemens Business Services (SBS), with responsibility for Europe, Africa and the Asia Pacific. He was instrumental in shaping SBS from its inception in 1995 into a $7 billion information technology company with 36,000 employees worldwide. At SBS, Paxton successfully restructured numerous country operations, and had direct responsibility for large outsourcing contracts, which represented approximately $2 billion of revenues.

Prior to Siemens Business Services, Paxton was an independent consultant for Computer Sciences Corporation (London), Woolworth (part of the Kingfisher Group), Phillips Business Systems, Amdahl and Tesco. He began his career in 1970 at Unilever Computer Services LTS (London) as a computer services manager, and fulfilled similar duties of increasing responsibility at British Homes Stores and J. Sainsbury PLC until 1987.

Paxton holds a Masters degree in Engineering. He has also completed management coursework at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, MIT's Sloan School of Management, INSEAD (Paris, France) and Astridge Management College (United Kingdom).
