Graham Lake to receive Charles Goodyear Medal. (People in the News).


During the 162nd Fail Technical Meeting, the Rubber Division selected four individuals to receive Rubber Division Science & Technology Awards.

Graham Lake, visiting professor at the University of East London (body, education) University of East London - (UEL) A UK University with six academic Faculties: Design and The Built Environment, East London Business School, Institute Of Health and Rehabilitation, Faculty Of Science, Social Sciences and Technology.

, was selected to receive the prestigious Charles Charles, archduke of Austria
Charles, 1771–1847, archduke of Austria; brother of Holy Roman Emperor Francis II. Despite his epilepsy, he was the ablest Austrian commander in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars; however, he was handicapped by
 Goodyear Medal. This medal is awarded for outstanding invention, innovation or development, which resulted in significant change or contribution to the rubber industry. As the recipient of this award, he will be asked to deliver a lecture covering the back ground, development, implementation and commercialization of his invention or innovation pertinent PERTINENT, evidence. Those facts which tend to prove the allegations of the party offering them, are called pertinent; those which have no such tendency are called impertinent, 8 Toull. n. 22. By pertinent is also meant that which belongs. Willes, 319.  to the award. He was the principal physicist for the Malaysian Rubber Producers Association. He is internationally recognized as a leading researcher on the failure of rubber and rubber products. He received the 1995 Colwyn The Borough of Colwyn was one of six districts of Clwyd, North Wales from 1974 to 1996.

It was formed under the Local Government Act 1972 from the following parts of the administrative county of Denbighshire:
  • The municipal borough of Colwyn Bay
