Government response due.

The Government's response to the Regulations Review Committee's (RRC) report on the title of second-level nurses trained between 2000 and September 18, 2004, was to be tabled in Parliament on September 17. The RRC upheld part of an NZNO complaint against the Nursing Council's decision to change the title of these nurses from enrolled nurse (EN) to nurse assistant (NA). The RRC recommended the Nursing Council change its title and scope of practice for those nurses, because of its retrospective effect. In a letter last month to former chair of the national EN committee, Robyn Hewlett, Health Minister Pete Hodgson told her of the date the Government's response was to be tabled.
