said the Micron Electronics entry-level server "ties together everything you look for in a workgroup server: good design, reliability, management and performance."

More flexible and versatile than similar products on the market, the Micron Vetix LXI can be adapted to meet customers' unique requirements, and can easily expand for future business needs. Manageability and security are enhanced through integrated hardware instrumentation--I2C Bus and DMI (Desktop Management Interface) The first desktop management standard from the DMTF. Enabling PCs to be monitored from a central console, it was superseded by the DMTF's Common Information Model (see CIM).  BIOS--as well as the Intel(R) LANDesk(R) Server Manager 2.52A, contributing to a low total cost of ownership without sacrificing serviceability. With the flexibility to reconfigure the Micron Vetix LXI, customers can feel secure that they are not limiting the potential of their server system to support future investments. The Vetix LXI also offers a turnkey software solution so businesses have all they need to get their server system up and running.

Other servers have "years of experience in the server market, whereas Micron is fairly new," Byrne said. "But the Vetix LXI was one of the best workgroup servers I saw - good enough to garner a Reviewer's Choice Designation." The Micron Vetix LXI beat other server veterans on an A through F rating scale with a solid A grade. Micron Electronics entered the server market in October 1996 with the introduction of the Micron Vetix EL 1000 Series and EL 2000 Series.

"Micron Electronics again shows its commitment to providing superior computing products to small and medium-sized business," stated Brian Klene, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Micron Electronics, Inc. "An award for our first server signals that we are strong contenders, even early on, in the server market."
