Gourmet Food Firm M&S Fine Foods, Inc. Names Khoury Mubarek Vice President-Operations.

Gourmet food industry veteran Khoury J. Mubarek has been named vice president operations of M&S Fine Foods, Inc., the entity formed from the merger of McArthur's Smokehouse, Inc. and Seyco Fine Foods, Inc. earlier this year, it was announced today by Deborah J. Collyer, president. Mubarek will be based in the Hartford, Conn., area.
Combining the two companies effected a powerful synergy between McArthur's line of smoked meats, game, fish, poultry and cheeses and Seyco's line of more than 300 gourmet products, such as caviars, soups, sauces, confitures, seafood, gifts and specialty foods, Collyer said.
"As vice president of operations, Khoury Mubarek will coordinate all aspects of product receipt and delivery as well as assist with product selection and acquisition," she said. "He will also market certain types of products into his own well-developed customer base.
"Khoury epitomizes the concept of 'relationship marketing' and has developed an extensive network of customers among companies and institutions throughout the Northeast in his 25-plus years in the food business. We are delighted to have him as a member of our executive team."
Most of Mubarek's sales career has been spent in the food industry. Immediately prior to joining M&S, he was sales manager at Nodine's Smokehouse, Torrington, Conn., an industry-leading USDA meat plant specializing in gourmet smoked meats for restaurants, hotels and institutions. In that position, he was responsible for market analyses, sales goals and training, distributor relations and on-site display management, as well as participation in product development, labeling and USDA compliance.
Earlier, he was division manager of State Line Snack Foods, North Haven, Conn., directing warehouse operations, and supervising district managers and route sales people servicing more than 2,200 accounts per week. Previous sales assignments also included positions at McCormick Spices, Bachman Snack Foods, and Ann Dale Cookies.
